Can you say “Squeeeeeeeeee!!!” ?
Last night I spent 15 minutes bouncing up and down squealing like a 9 year old girl at a Justin Beiber mall appearance.
Why?
Remember my Losing my Quirky.com Virginity post? ย No? That’s okay, I think only 4 people read this blog anyway. haha..
Anywhooooo, here’s what’s come of my invention foray so far … ๐ ย Squeeeeeee!ย
Squee! However, I’m not entirely sure what Quirky is. And by “not entirely” I mean “pretty much not at all.”
Hiya! ๐ Thanks for the squee! Quirky is a company with designers and engineers etc where you can submit inventions to the website, and if you reach 200 votes from the community (and or the Quirky people find your idea interesting, like mine) they will do all the work of developing/manufacture and selling of your idea, and you are paid a % as the inventor. It’s not as lucrative as doing it independently BUT it’s also less expensive than getting my own patent and trying to manufacture, market and sell ideas myself. Plus I thought the social/internet aspect of it would reflect better on my portfolio/resumes (listen to me using fancy adult career words, tongue in cheek) than if I did it alone. I have another invention I will have to pursue on my own, because it’s not in Quirky’s wheel house, and way more serious a product. But that’s for another day. ๐ Hope you’re well Smak! I’ve been unable to keep up with reading/posting because of leaving this job, and internet issues at work. Hoping to get back into everyone’s pages soon! :)xo
Congratulations! That’s fantastic! Next I’ll be seeing you on Shark Tank. ๐
Thanks ๐ so excited!
Awesome!! There are so many great ideas but not many of us are inventors – great to see there’s a way to get these ideas to happen! Need an invention that will clean up cuticles. I saw a cuticle clipper the other day but I can’t bring myself to cut my own skin! You know, we’ve been told since childhood to NOT do that …
Thanks! ๐ You know, it’s true that there’s no need to cut the cuticles, just keep them pushed back (and moisturized). I realized that the only reason mine ever got long/thick and needing cutting was because I let them grow out with the nail without pushing back, and so when I pushed them they were big and I wanted to cut them. Just push them back every morning at the end of your shower and they’re fine! Cutting them just leads to tears and/or possible infection. ick.
Congratulations on the quirky invention idea, and I hope this will be a great success for you!
